| Youthnet and the PTA are proud to sponsor Community Forums, a series of presentations for students and families in the Springville/Mapleton area. These forums provide timely information and discussions on topics that are critical to the well being of our youth. Students who attend a Community Forum also have the opportunity to earn extra credit or detention credit when they return a stamped event form to school.

- October Forum: Drug Awareness Night
Tuesday, October 24, SHS Auditorium, 7:00 p.m.
In conjunction with Red Ribbon month, we were pleased to hear once again from Brad Barham, founder of Pathways-- Real Life Recovery. Caring adults need to understand that the "war on drugs" is best fought one family at a time. Barham shared with the audience some simple things we can do to reduce the risk of losing family members to this dangerous threat.

- April Forum: Alcohol and Substance Abuse
Wednesday, April 25, SHS Auditorium, 2:30 p.m.
Students, teachers, and administrators are invited to joined the Utah County Substance Abuse Prevention team to share information and encourage healthy celebrations during this time of year when so many graduation and end-of-year parties take place.
- February Forum: The Power in YOUth
Thursday, February 15, SHS Auditorium, 7:00 p.m.
Our kids and parents need to know about the many opportunities for them here in the Springville/Mapleton area. Alan Curtis, Springville's recently retired director of Parks and Recreation, will be joined by Youthnet board members Kevin Scholz and Dan Shelley, who will share information about how you and your kids can get involved and make a difference in our community.
- November Forum: Pornography, "The Great LIE"
Wednesday, November 15, SJH Auditorium, 7:00 p.m.
Pornography is a devastating scourge. Dan Gray, an expert counselor in this field, will address concerns relating to adolescent exposure to pornography and its insidious attack against the family.

Tuesday, October 17, SHS Auditorium, 7:00 p.m.
In conjunction with Red Ribbon month, we're excited to hear from Brad Barham, vice president and co-founder of DrugTalk. Many of the barriers to drug use of a decade ago are now gone. There are simple things we can do to reduce the risk of losing family members to this dangerous threat.
- September Forum: Internet Safety
Wednesday, September 20, SHS Auditorium, 7:00 p.m.
Cindy Stonebraker from the Utah State Attorney General's Task Force on Internet Safety and Pornography will help us learn how we can make use of the powerful resources on the internet while protecting our families from the equally powerful perils.
